Cashbook Rising 2019 – Review of the event

On August 22nd Cashbook Rising 2019 took place in Cincinnati, Ohio. This was our 3rd annual user conference in North America. It was hosted at the offices of our long-standing customer, Formica Limited. Formica have beautiful and spacious offices which are located just north of Cincinnati. They have been a customer of Cashbook for over 15 years now, and use our cash automation software all over the world. Cashbook Rising attendees came from as far as Canada, California, and Columbus, Ohio!

We had a full action-packed day of learning, sharing and networking for our customers. Representing Cashbook on the day we had Greg Coulter, CEO, and other staff from specific departments – Technical, Product Developments, Support & Implementations, Sales, and Marketing. There were presentations from each of the Cashbook staff representing their departments. These were short presentations on how each specific department operates and what they have in store for 2020. There were two customer presentations from Amanda Bartley, Formica and Sharon Price, Barry Wehmiller respectively. We also had a partner presentation from Jason Read, VersaPay.

Amanda spoke of how Formica have been using Cashbook for so long, and the benefits of having a system that everyone in their Finance team is familiar with. She also spoke of the massive time and cost savings that cashbook offers them during every end-of-the-month reconciliation.

Sharon Price, as a newer customer, spoke on Barry Wehmiller’s use of Cashbook. Sharon also mentioned how they have a high usage of ‘Ghost Cards’ and how easily Cashbook processes these payment files. Ghost Cards are provided by the bank, to make it easier for different departments in an organisation to make purchases. Sharon also spoke about the continuing roll-out of Cashbook in other departments of the Barry Wehmiller organization.

Jason Read from VersaPay spoke about their ARC solution, this is a cloud-based financial solution that automates the entire invoice-to-cash process: presentment, collaboration, collections, payments and cash application. All of the presentations were very informative, beneficial and engaging for our customers.

We rounded out the conference with a session on Cashbook product developments and suggestions by our customers for 2020. We have held a meeting and talked through these suggestions with the development team, and we hope to have some of these implemented by next year.

There were also a lot of great networking opportunities at Cashbook Rising for our attendees. None more so than our evening event, a riverboat dinner cruise down the Ohio river. It was a great way to relax, unwind and network while taking in the beautiful night-time skyline of Cincinnati. A big thanks to Formica for hosting Cashbook Rising and to all our customers and partners for attending the event. We are already looking forward to Cashbook Rising 2020, we hope to see you all again very soon!
