Founded in 1945, Ozarc Gas is Missouri’s longest-operating independent provider of industrial gases and welding equipment. Headquartered in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the company has grown into a leading regional supplier serving customers across Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Indiana. For more than 80 years, Ozarc Gas has delivered industrial, medical, specialty, and welding gas solutions while maintaining a strong commitment to customer service, reliability, and industry expertise.
Today, the company continues to build on the legacy established by the Garner family, supporting businesses throughout the Midwest with dependable gas and welding supply solutions.

Prior to implementing Cashbook, Ozarc Gas relied heavily on manual processes. The accounts receivable team manually matched and applied every check and ACH payment in the system, spending significant time on routine cash application tasks. To reconcile bank accounts, the team relied on spreadsheets, color-coded tracking, and manual transaction matching across multiple accounts. These labour-intensive processes consumed valuable staff hours, increased the risk of errors, and limited operational efficiency as transaction volumes continued to grow.

Ozarc Gas implemented Cashbook’s Cash Application and Bank Reconciliation modules to automate previously manual accounting processes.
Ozarc Gas first deployed the Cash Application module for ACH payments, automatically matching and applying incoming transactions within the system. Building on that success, the company rolled out Lockbox Processing for check payments, enabling automatic matching for the majority of checks received.
At the same time, Ozarc Gas implemented the Bank Reconciliation module to replace manual spreadsheet-based reconciliation methods.
By automating transaction matching and reconciliation activities across bank accounts, the company eliminated much of the manual work previously required by its accounting team and established a more streamlined, efficient process for managing cash and financial records.
We’ve got the ACH process lined out now to where it is automatically matching most transactions. The lockbox checks are coming through mostly matched as well, and the automated bank reconciliation process has been fantastic.
