Cashbook Integration with D365
Cashbook’s integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 offers a seamless, automated solution to bridge your financial operations between the two platforms. Here’s how the integration works, along with the features Cashbook brings to the table:
Secure, Scalable Integration Architecture
D365 provides REST based APIs for integrating with third party services. Cashbook leverages these APIs through a secure and scalable architecture:
- OAuth 2.0 Authentication
Cashbook uses OAuth 2.0 to securely authenticate with D365. The Cashbook application is registered as a web application in Microsoft Entra ID, ensuring secure, token-based access.
- Service Account Authorization
Once registered, Cashbook is linked to a dedicated service account within D365. This account is granted precise permissions to control data access, supporting principle of least privilege and compliance with enterprise IT policies.
Using OData based REST APIs, the Cashbook integration imports Customer Master and AR subledger data for Collections and Accounts Receivable. For Accounts Payable, the integration imports Vendor Master and AP subledger data from D365 into Cashbook.
To update D365 from Cashbook, the integration uses the Recurring Integrations API for exporting data from the Cashbook application into D365. The data includes customer payment information and vendor payment information.
